CUTAWAY Available in rolls and sheets: Cutaways are used inside knit fabrics to stabilize the garment during the embroidery process The weight you use to do the job will vary according to the stitch density and weight of fabric. MEDIUM weight is the most popular or most often used weight. However there may be times where a lighter weight or heavier weight one will be more desirable When your outline does not meet the stitches or you have a gap it can be because you used the wrong stabilizer or IMPROPER Hooping technique. NEVER stretch a knit in the hoop keep it loose, like the fabric Cutaways live up to there name, after you are done embroidering you cut the excess away being careful not to cut the stitches or the garment. TEARAWAYS are available in Several Types , Rolls and Sheets: We carry standard , Iron on , wash away and Sticky Style Tearaways: TEARAWAYS are used on woven fabrics. Our most popular is the light weight tearaway which you can use single or double depending on the stitch count or weight of the fabric you are working on. You would use the EASY TEAR on delicate fabrics or on designs with light stitch density. We like this one for monogramming. IRON ON's ( we call it PRESS N HOOP) are used to stabilize inside woven fabrics like Denim shirts and for quick hooping (You can even use it to hold another sheet of stabilizer in place while you are hooping) STICKY stabilizers are used for hoopless embroidery or with the HOOP IT ALL hoops Sticky is sold in rolls only, We have it in 8" and 15" widths ONE of our favorites is the TEAR /WASH AWAY You use this one like a tear away except when you wash it, it will disintergrate in the WASH water. Great for inside Golf Shirts, or any where you don't want a stabilizer to show. Please do not use this one like a standerd washaway, but as a tear away. |
WASHAWAYS are usually used on top of knits or towels , although the Ultra Heavy is also used when doing Free standing LACE designs. We carry the light solvy style (which is used on top of towels and knits), in special cut sheet sizes or the clear saran wrap style in perforated rolls 2 sizes We also CARRY the ultra heavy water soluble backing which is primarily used for the free standing lace designs, Tree ornaments, doilies, book markers etc. BUT is also great to use on any woven fabric where you don't want a stabilizer to show. YOU can also embroider on very delicate fabrics, by sandwhiching in between 2 sheets of the Ultra Heavy Backing NEW ITEM ADDED: Similar to Vilene, which looks like fabric, except you can embroidery on it and it completely washes out, not like the tear washaway, which can leave some fibers behind. |
